“sdrawkcaB” – a poem

A Lesson on Excessive Nostalgia

There once was a man who hated going.
Life in fast forward just wasn’t flowing.
So instead of growing old, always having to look behind,
He decided to stop going forward and live life in rewind.

All he did was done backward –
The strangest thing anyone’s ever heard!
But from sun up to sundown, it was all reverse,
In this man’s ultimate attempt to avoid the hearse.

When he woke, it was off for dinner and drinks,
And then to clocking out of work (which he did with a wink!)
Then to lunch,
Then to brunch,
Followed by clocking into work,
Which sometimes made him irked.
With the setting sun he made his bed,
And had the coffee and paper right before he laid down his head.

He drove in reverse and walked the opposite way,
And thus was his routine every day.
He was going to escape the grave,
By never going the right way,
And live life in reverse,
Going back in time to his birth!

It would have worked too,
If it weren’t for that tragic fall,
When he accidentally walked off a wall!
He couldn’t see where he was walking,
Since he was moving backwards and was busy talking.
It was a good idea,
And might have worked…

… but the grave found him anyway!

His name wasn’t Tom Green, by chance?

In all seriousness, I really like this. Very creative and well written, Kyle.
